SKINCARE ROUTINE. How to get the best results from your Skincare Routine.

STEP 1 CLEANSER.

Remove make-up and wash your face before slathering on your products. For ingredients to properly absorb, you need clean skin that's totally free of oil and grime.

STEP 2 TONER.

Back in the day toners were these alcohol-based liquids that irritated the hell out of your face and left you stinging, but today's toners are filled with gently hydrating ingredients to coddle dry skin. They're not meant to be something that sits around on your skin and feel heavy. They're essentially just priming your face for ingredients to be better absorbed.

STEP 3 SERUM.

Serums are just shots of extremely concentrated nutrients, hydration, and anti-oxidants that really amp up your skin health as soon as you apply them but honestly, they are the heavy lifters of your skincare routine. Basically think of toners like a sip of beer and Serums like a straight shot of Tequilla. opt for a  Serum with hyaluronic acid which pulls water from the air into your skin to plump it up and keep it hydrated while you sleep.

STEP 4 EYE CREAM.

Eye creams tend to be lighter and thinner than face moisturisers, so make sure to apply them before you slather on your face creams and oils.

The rule of thumb when applying skincare products is to apply the lightest first and the heaviest last since thinner products can't penetrate thicker.

STEP 5 SPOT TREATMENT.

Ideally, you should apply your spot treatment (whether they are for zits, scars, or dark spots), at night, since that's when your body working to repair itself.

STEP 6 MOISTURISER.

You need to be using a moisturiser (always) no matter what because its the only thing that'll keep your skin barrier, the very temperamental thing responsible for making your face look good and healthy, plus a moisturiser not only infuses your skin with hydration but helps trap in all of the products underneath it to make the ingredients even more effective.

FACE OILS

Face oils are occlusive, meaning they seal in all of the ingredients, and moisture just applied to your face to keep them from evaporating as quickly. Oils can easily penetrate moisturisers, serums, and treatments but no product can penetrate an oil. And don't think oils are just for dry skin certain oils, like Rosehip, Jojoba can decrease excess oil in acne-prone skin. while Marula and Aloe vera oils can soothe sensitive irritated skin.

EXFOLIATION

Exfoliation is important for anti-aging as well. For those concerned about wrinkles. As you increase your exfoliation you are tricking the skin into acting young again. Plus for all skin types exfoliation simply gives the face an instant glow, by both clearing away the dead skin cells that cause dullness and allowing your other products to penetrate the skin more effectively.

Should everyone use a face mask? absolutely. Face masks are the perfect skincare treatment to help you with your skincare concerns. Face masks can hydrate skin, remove excess oils, and help improve the appearance of your pores. They're also an excellent way to help pull out impurities. Another advantage of wearing a face mask: the feeling of being pampered like your at a spa in the comfort of your own home.
